My Year in Review

I can't believe 2010 is over. I feel like it was just last January and I was looking forward to going to Florida, starting my last leg of college, going on Spring Break, graduating ... and now it's all in the past.

January
Went to Florida to visit Kate. Enjoyed record-breaking cold weather. Didn't take a single picture. Started my last semester of college. Interned. Started my last semester living with Katie.

February
Class, intern, work, repeat. Enjoyed parts of my last sorority recruitment. Enjoyed snow days with my favorite people. Stole a silver monkey from a party and turned silver. Got really, really close to people who matter.
March
Went on a cruise with Boyfriend. Went horseback riding through Freeport. Met some awesome people at our dinner table. Stuffed my face. Gained five pounds. Got dressed up with rich people.
April
Enjoyed my last Greek Week. Won Greek Week. AGain Danced all night at my last formal. Tanned in the quad instead of studying for finals. Skipped class to go to the beach. Got dressed up.

May
Spent my last few weeks with the friends that became family over four years. Graduated college. Cried my eyes out. Applied for jobs.

June
Spent most of my days at my beach house. Tanned all day. Applied to jobs.
July
Tanned all day. Applied to jobs. Went to my first country concert. Had an interview for my dream job. Had multiple interviews for my dream job. Didn't get my dream job. Had another job interview. Got the job. Started working. Got the puppies. Survived days of 100 degree weather.
August
Spent lots of time with puppies. Spent lots of time working. Spent weekends tanning at the beach. Saw John Mayer in concert, finally. Watched my sister leave for college.

September
Enjoyed the best beach weather of the year. Didn't move back into college.

October
Turned 23. Enjoyed great fall beach days. Enjoyed a fall weekend in Lancaster. Got lost in a corn maze. Went to Hershey Park. Realized roller coasters now give me headaches. Enjoyed the leaves changing.
November
Went to Florida to visit Kate. Enjoyed the best weather possible. Saw fake snow while wearing flip flops.
December
Finished Christmas shopping early. Started to really, really enjoy blogging. Survived the holidays.

Snow Day(s)

You know what makes me really happy?

I got out of shoveling snow! One point for trivial happiness!

After the extreme snowfall last winter, my mom and my neighbor split a snow blower hoping to never have to use it. That logic clearly failed, but it got me out of shoveling my immense driveway.

And, in further proof that snow days aren't fun after graduation, I had to work from home. Nope, no more snow days ever again. No more wine at 10 a.m. No more movie marathons while snuggling with my roommates. No sledding for me, just writing. Not that I really minded because I am a poor writer and it was another great excuse of why I couldn't help blow snow or clean off the cars.

Anyways, I'm done with snow now and it can melt and we can skip to summer, thanks.

All I Want for Christmas

Dear Santa,

I'm sorry for not being a mature, responsible grown up and asking for health and happiness for all. While I would like those things, there are three things that I would also like. Only one can be put under my Christmas tree, so keys and tickets will work for the other two.

1. A Canon EOS Rebel. After years of photography classes, I never thought I would want to see one again, but I want to be able to take nice photographs again.

2. An apartment. This holiday season would have been much more enjoyable if I were just visiting for the holidays instead of living in the house hosting the holidays.

3. A real good tan. No one says it better than Kenny.

Happiness for All

I wish I could be one of those people who post everyday. But, there simply just aren't enough hours in the day. And enough interesting things just don't happen in my day. Sorry for the disappointment.

Anyways, as Christmas is nearing, things are a little busy. Add decorating, baking, wrapping, etc. with a full time job for the first time ever and it gets a little crazy. I just love baking too much to cut it out and this is about the only time of the year that it's totally acceptable for me to be a fatty.

Going with the theme of my blog and my daily pursuit for happiness, kicks and giggles, it looks like I should also add in the pursuit of the happiness of Tucker this holiday season.
I didn't know dogs could frown.

The First Snow Fall

South Jersey is a place that is just not prepared for the snow- especially the first snow fall. You would think that they got in the swing of things last year when Mother Nature dumped literally feet of snow over the south of the state. But no. This year, all it took was HALF AN INCH of snow to ruin my evening.

I hate snow.

And by ruin, I mean that it took me 3 1/2 hours to get home from work. The half-inch took my normally crappy 2-hour-ish drive and made it a miserable bumper-to-bumper nightmare. Driving up north was, thankfully, okay because all the snow was south of 195. Which made my panic attacks about driving in the snow at work totally odd because there was no snow in the forecast for up there and was a totally different world than an hour and a half south.

I hate snow.

And that it. That's all the snow that was on the ground last night. Almost no snow was on the highways because of all the drivers, but my road is a solid sheet of ice now. Lovely.
